Our Staff
Laura Laza, Director Anchor Nursery School
I have been the Director of Anchor Nursery School since 1997. I have a Bachelor's Degree from St. Joseph's College and am certified in Elementary and Special Education. I have a Master's Degree in Educational Technology at C.W. Post. I am also the mother of 2 children.
The staff at Anchor Nursery School are dedicated and experienced. The staff consists of a director, teacher and teacher assistant. The Director is a New York State Certified teacher. Teachers and teacher assistants are hired based on their experience with children. All of the staff are CPR / First Aid Certified. The staff are members of Hope Lutheran Church as well.
Heidi Thide, Teacher
Our classroom teacher is Mrs.Thide. She has been working for the school for 20 years and is dedicated and enthusiastic. Mrs. Thide also volunteers for Hope Lutheran Church as food pantry coordinator. She is a mother of 2.
Sue Denig, Teacher's Assistant
Mrs. Denig is our teacher's assistant. This is her fifth year working at Anchor. She is a
mother of 3.
Anchor Nursery School was founded in 1972.
The school's level of excellence has been maintained for over 38 years.
Hours
Our morning preschool program is held from 9:15am until 12:15pm. Children can attend on Monday, Wednesday and Friday mornings, Tuesday and Thursday mornings or all five mornings.
Class Size All classes must have an minimum enrollment of 8 to open. We strive to keep classes sizes to a maximum of 12 allowing for a 6:1 ratio. Exceptions may be made for one or two additional students.
Fees Morning classes:
Two days per week $1,750 per year
Three days per week $1,950 per year
Five days per week $3,500 per year
Payments can be made monthly over a 10
month period.
